How to ensure your opinions don’t add colour to black and white facts.
We’ve all got opinions. Some things you are asked to communicate you’ll like, others you don’t; indeed you might not even agree with them. The place to discuss these is with your line manager, not the people you are asked to communicate with. They want to hear the facts, not your opinions.
Your job is to own the message and deliver the facts with clarity, conviction and consistency, showing empathy for your colleague’s concerns, not your own.
