Sustainability

We take environmental and social sustainability seriously – and have done for years. We are proud to partner with teams in client organisations who are dedicated to doing business in the right ways, helping the planet and the people that populate it.

Outstanding engagement need not cost the earth

Axiom is acutely aware that there is no planet B, so we have had environmental sustainability at the top of our agenda for decades.

Axiom’s sustainability journey (1996 – the present day)

1996

Minimising fuel miles for business meetings

We were harnessing web cams, dial-up connections and telephone conferences for internal and client meetings as far back as 1996 – minimising business travel. Today we harness the latest virtual meeting platforms, matching them to client needs.

Recycling and reusing staging from live events

We’ve been recycling and reusing modular staging from live events for over 20 years, taking it from venue to venue and using low voltage lighting it to recreate our clients’ corporate colours and branding.

Minimising use of print and paper internally and at live events

Using digital tools, including collaborative employee engagement apps on mobile devices, it is entirely possible to deliver even large-scale events without the use of a single piece of paper. Since 2019, we have made a conscious effort to go paper free as often as possible.

Offsetting carbon footprint on travel

High fiving the reduction in our carbon footprint. When we do have to travel, we do so by train, whenever possible, and if circumstances dictate that we have to fly we offset our carbon footprint.

Environmentally friendly website hosting

Green hosting for our website

We use green web hosting to minimise the impact that our website has on the environment. Our website is hosted in a data centre that uses 100% renewable energy and restores habitats by planting trees in the Madagascan mangrove on Axiom's behalf.

Helping clients meet social sustainability targets

We are delighted to help our clients meet their sustainability goals in everything we do. This includes encouraging the use of bespoke virtual event software to connect participants, speakers, panellists, facilitators and conference organisers, without anyone needing to travel.

Repurposing our skills and experience for the greater good

Often inspired by helping our clients deliver the work they do on Social Sustainability, everyone at Axiom ‘gives back’ in a number of ways. Some examples include:

  • A team member who harnesses her engagement skills to help her local Council actually get things done!
  • Facilitator by day and a comedienne by night, one of our colleagues delivers masterclasses in improvised comedy in her local community
  • Another one of our consultants hosts a weekly free-to-air business radio talk show
  • Raising over £25k for Help for Heroes, our live event team members played to their respective strengths to produce, show-call and light a high-profile event in a local school assembly room, updating their facilities and leaving behind items of equipment, creating a lasting legacy

We are privileged to have developed a range of skills and qualities that not only power the performance of our clients but also empower people to make a big impact on society.

Investing in the leaders of tomorrow

Our founder, is dedicated to repurposing his engagement skills to help young adults present the best possible version of themselves to enter the world of work, or get the University place of their dreams. He has a great track record in doing so, gained over many years, and sees many of the people he has coached enjoying considerable success.

I can't thank you enough for the skills and self-belief you brought out in me. I am happy to share that I start at Oxford, studying Jurisprudence, in September.
